Wade Fornander, MD, ABFM

Every day, I am able to share interesting medical cases with the residents and to work with outstanding faculty members that are equally passionate about teaching.
— Dr. Wade Fornander, Faculty Physician & Director of Medical Student Education and Recruitment

When considering a residency program, Dr. Wade Fornander recommends that medical students consider both their peers and the physicians they’ll be in daily contact with, and find a program that prepares them to be excellent physicians. As a faculty physician for over five years, he appreciates being able to present residents with a variety of medical cases that will broaden their scope of knowledge.

An avid runner and triathlete, Dr. Fornander enjoys spending time with his wife and children. “Lincoln offers fun things for families to do, and the schools are excellent for our kids,” Dr. Fornander adds.

Dr. Fornander graduated from Chadron State College and received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He completed his family medicine residency at Lincoln Family Medicine Residency Program. He spent several years in private practice before returning to Lincoln as a member of LFMP faculty.
